What we collect.
And why.
Academic Intelligence is a product of Sightline Group, a consulting and advisory firm based in Edmonton, Alberta. We build data intelligence tools for the Canadian post-secondary sector.
This notice explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how it is handled. We collect as little as necessary and use it only for the purposes described here.
At this stage of development, we collect information only through our feedback form. This may include:
- Email address Optional. Provided only if you choose to follow our development progress.
- Survey responses Your answers to questions about which capabilities are relevant to your work, and what else you may need. No personally identifying information is required to respond.
- Site analytics We may collect aggregated, anonymized data about how visitors use this site — pages visited, time on page, general location (country or province). This does not identify you individually.
As the platform grows, this notice will be updated to reflect any new collection activities before they begin.
- Feedback responses To understand which problems matter most to the sector and inform our product development priorities.
- Email address To send occasional development updates to those who have expressly requested them. We do not use email addresses for any other purpose.
- Site analytics To understand how people find and use the site, so we can improve it.
Form responses and email addresses are stored in Google Workspace. Google Workspace is subject to Google's data processing terms and is hosted on infrastructure that meets Canadian data residency standards.
We retain personal information for no longer than three years from the date of collection, or until you request its removal — whichever comes first.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. Your information is accessible only to Sightline Group staff working on Academic Intelligence.
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct inaccuracies, and request its removal at any time.
